Justice for ALL

The video footage tells the story.  Four white officers arrest a black man for a benign *alleged* offense of using counterfeit cash to buy some cigarettes.  After handcuffing George Floyd and pinning him face down to the ground for *allegedly* resisting arrest, one of the officers lodged his knee into George's neck.  For. Over. Eight. Minutes.  George was pleading for his life.  Witnesses were pleading with the officer for mercy.   Eight minutes later, George Floyd died at the hands an aggressive white police officer, while three others stood by.   This is a tired, worn out storyline.  How could this happen AGAIN?

If this has you utterly outraged, it should.  It is hard to believe that in this day and age, we as a society are utterly failing.  To think something like this can still happen is head-spinning.  To think something like this could happen during a pandemic is even more concerning, and here's why.

Humanity has been on a downward spiral for some time.  Many - myself included - who feel a connection to the divine beings who guide us believe the pandemic was meant to be a wake up call.... a way to grab the world tightly on the shoulders, like you might a misbehaving child, look us straight in the eyes and firmly plead that we alter our behaviors.   We were sent to our rooms - almost literally - to think about life.  To be silent.  To be introspective.  To think about what we want for the world, for ourselves, and for each other.  FOR EACH OTHER.  Think about that for a second... FOR EACH OTHER. Therein lies the problem.

Humanity has become so driven by ego, and power, and control, that we forget that one of our purposes here is to learn unconditional love.  That means loving your neighbor as you love yourself.  That means respecting the path and lives of others even if you disagree with their choices, and seeing them as the divine light that they are.  It means - YES - sometimes putting your needs and desires aside in order to support your fellow man.  During the pandemic, we were asked to wear masks. Why?  Out of respect for others.  Masks are meant to catch our germs from spreading, not necessarily to block germs from others from reaching us.  We were asked to stay home.  Why?  To not only protect ourselves, but to protect others, in case we were unsuspecting virus carriers.

Could it be that we just are not getting it?  What is it going to take as a society to love and support each other?  What is it going to take to show respect and concern for your loved ones, neighbors and strangers?  Could it be that what it is going to take is one beautiful soul named George Floyd?  Is it possible that George Floyd's SOUL chose to give his life to serve humanity by shaking us to our core and sending us to our knees - again?  Yes.

We owe him a debt of gratitude.  But we owe him so much more than that.  We have to make the choice to honor his sacrifice by changing our way of being, our thinking, our actions.  Most importantly, we must change our hearts.

There are still so many beings who are living in dense, low vibrational energy (the officers involved, for example).  They may have hatred in their hearts, or they may be ignorant.  Whatever it is, they need our prayers.  But we can and we must rise up against this way of life.  We are being given an opportunity by our divine Creator to change.  How many more tragedies is it going to take?  How many more lives have to be sacrificed?

You and I might not be able to change the minds and hearts of the masses, but we can make sure we, as an individual, have our hearts in the right place.  If you can make the change within yourself to practice kindness and love and not allow racism and hatred to enter your heart, please know you have made a significant contribution to raising the vibration of the planet.  If you have the capacity to take it further by peacefully protesting, or finding some magical way to help others elicit change within others, please... do it.

Beyonce wrote a touching tribute on social media following George Floyd's death.  "We can no longer look away, " she wrote.  How many times have we said that as a society?  When are we really going to stop allowing this shameful behavior?  There will always be a segment of society that continues to impose hate on others.  But as a society, we have a responsibility to solve this through whatever means we need to, and often it begins with tougher laws, criminal justice reform, social intolerance, and the election of forward-thinking, compassionate, awakened leaders.   We have to band together to promote goodness and kindness, and not allow the haters to spread their deadly germs anymore.

As Beyonce wisely said, "George is all of our family in humanity....yes, someone has been charged but justice is far from being achieved."

No matter our color, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status, we are equal.
Do you believe that?  Have you personally done the soul work to see this truth and integrate it into your life?   Let's pledge to work harder on ourselves to assure that one day, there will be justice not only for George Floyd and all of our fellow African American brothers and sisters who have suffered indignation and suppression for hundreds of years, but for ALL.

We are better than this.
