Soul Imprint

The Peloton experience is an exercise not just for your body, but your spirit.

Have you heard of Peloton?  My, my, my.  What an invention!  Peloton is a state-of-the-art, home spinning bike equipped with technology that allows you to take live spinning classes, recorded ones, or go it alone.  The company has annual earnings of almost one BILLION dollars, and, in my opinion, the company has earned every bit of it by being among, if not the first, to offer an interactive home workout that is nothing short of freakin awesome!

Recently, as I cruised along on my 45-minute, leg-burning, heart-pumping ride, I was closely watching the leaderboard.  The Peloton leaderboard is genius, even though I royally despise it.  Whether you are riding live, or sweating through an archived class, you can watch your ranking rise, or sometimes too often in my case, fall.   When you finish a class, your ranking is forever linked and saved to that class.  The competitive side of me detests that part!

But I can't help but connect the leaderboard experience to the deep spiritual concept of soul imprints.  As a soul having a human experience, you leave a wake of your energy behind each and every situation you are in.  So imagine, for example, leaving a tense, difficult work meeting where you were positive, encouraging, shared ideas and solutions, and left making others feel good and encouraged about whatever was just discussed.  Your high-vibrational energy just infiltrated the depths of each and every one of the people in that meeting.  And the extraordinary thing is that each person will then carry that forward, more than likely, further spreading your energy - mixed with theirs - to others they interact with that day.  That, my friends, is a soul imprint.  And, yes.  It can work the other way too.  Let's take that same meeting.  You engage in combative behavior with your coworkers, serve as the group pessimist, and now, you've just polluted the soul air circulating around everyone else.  Indeed, you just left your soul imprint, but in the worst way.

With that in mind, my thoughts of the Peloton leaderboard have switched from hate to love.  Now, as I watch the leaderboard, I realize that my ranking is my soul imprint.  When I look at it that way, I feel good knowing that someone out there is looking at my position on the board - no matter how good or how bad  - and are trying to do better than I did!   It's a gift that we give each other, whether on the Peloton or in daily life.  To challenge each other to do better.  To find strength in those who go before us.  And most importantly, to always remember that your energy remains in your wake.  What impact do you wish to have on the world?  Here's a perfect opportunity to spread the wonderful, positive, enlightened, loving essence of who you are.
